What I'd Buy From Nordstrom Right Now (With Seven Years of Receipts to Back It Up)
After seven years buying for Nordstrom, here’s my honest current shopping list — the pieces I’d actually buy today with my own money and why they’re worth it.

Back in My Old Stomping Grounds

Even though I left Nordstrom in 2023 to build my independent life in Denver, I still shop there regularly. There’s a reason I spent seven years there — they carry many brands that consistently deliver quality.

This is my personal edit right now: the pieces I would buy with my own money, knowing exactly what goes into them.

My Nordstrom Shopping List – Fall 2026

Layered Nordstrom outfit with cashmere sweater, jeans and boots for real life

Tops & Sweaters

1. Everlane Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
The quality-to-price ratio is still unbeatable. Soft, durable, and available in perfect neutrals. I’d buy two — one in cream and one in a rich terracotta.

2. Madewell Perfect Vintage Tee
Not everything needs to be expensive. These tees wash beautifully and maintain their shape. Essential for layering.

3. Aritzia Sculpt Knit Turtleneck
Perfect base layer for Denver’s variable weather. Substantial fabric that doesn’t pill easily.

Bottoms

4. AGOLDE Riley Straight Jeans
My longtime favorite. Great stretch recovery, flattering on many body types, and they last.

5. Vince Wide-Leg Ponte Pants
The dressier version of sweatpants. Professional enough for client meetings but comfortable for real life.

Outerwear & Layers

6. Nordstrom Signature Wool-Blend Coat
Their house brand outerwear frequently punches above its weight. Classic cut, warm, and versatile.

7. Levi’s Trucker Jacket
A forever piece. I’d size up slightly for easy layering.

Dresses & One-Pieces

8. Reformation Wrap Midi Dress
Excellent construction and flattering on multiple body types. Worth the investment for how often I’d wear it.

9. Daily Practice Utility Jumpsuit
Perfect for busy days when I need to look put together but move freely.

Shoes & Accessories

10. Blundstone Chelsea Boots
The ultimate Denver shoe. Durable, comfortable, and stylish with everything.

11. Madewell Leather Tote Bag
Roomy enough for laptop and dog treats, structured enough to look polished.

Why These Specific Pieces?

  • Proven Track Record: I’ve bought or merchandised similar items and watched them perform.

  • Real Life Versatility: Everything on this list works for multiple scenarios in my Denver life.

  • Quality vs Price Balance: I’m choosing pieces where the cost-per-wear math makes sense.

  • Mix-and-Match Potential: These items play well together and with what I already own.

My Nordstrom Shopping Strategy

  1. Focus on house brands and collaborations for best value

  2. Check the sale section first — Nordstrom’s sales are genuinely good

  3. Feel the fabric in person whenever possible

  4. Consider alterations — a good tailor can make good clothes great

  5. Buy core neutrals before fun colors

What I’m Skipping Right Now

  • Overly trendy items that won’t last

  • Anything requiring special dry cleaning

  • Pieces that only work with a very specific aesthetic

  • Fast-fashion adjacent brands that don’t hold up

The Former Buyer’s Honest Advice

Nordstrom is still one of the best places to shop if you know what to look for. Focus on quality construction, versatile styles, and brands with good track records.

Don’t get distracted by every new arrival. Stick to what solves actual wardrobe gaps.

Building Your Nordstrom Cart

Start with the basics that you’ll wear constantly. Then add one or two special pieces. Mix in sale finds. That formula has served me well for years.

What are you eyeing at Nordstrom right now? Share your favorites in the comments — I love hearing what’s working for other women.

Wear it and go, friends — and happy (smart) shopping.
